I am back living in Canada. World adventures are currently on hold since I moved back to take care of dad.
I am still an artist who enjoys working in various media, but silk is definitely
my favorite.
The textures, the feel, the beauty and range of patterns and designs are only limited by my imagination.
I am currently living, working and creating beautiful things in Winnipeg, Manitoba
ZSJ Silks are being sold at seasonal markets from now until New Year's Eve

world!
Here I go again! It has been a really busy few years!
New website, new art, new work and new views on life!
I am still in South Korea, though I do make it home for visits to Winnipeg twice a year now!
Being back in South Korea has given me plenty to explore and many opportunities to develope and create.
I have been teaching a variety of classes at Kunsan National University in Gunsan, South Korea since August 2010.
This weekend I taught another silk and fabric dyeing workshop! I love having fun making a mess! will post photos soon.
Please be patient as I am in the midst of re-creating the website.

Here I go again! I am back in Canada, but not for
long...
Soon I will be back in Asia. Yes, in a week or two, I will
be on my way to Nonsan-si, South Korea.
It’s in the works!
That basically describes me and my work. Always changing, progressing, evolving and growing, but often keeping an aspect of certain elements in technique or style.
Working on different projects and using different types of media is something that I find stimulating. I am constantly experimenting in a variety of media and new ideas as well as subject matter, as I am a bit of a Renaissance person when it comes to art. I like working in diverse media and exploring each to its fullest, using traditional and modern approaches. Sometimes I combine media, sometimes I combine techniques or methods, and sometimes I mix it up.
It has always been a subtle goal of mine to cause a thinker impact or to invoke an emotional response. Any emotion really; joy, sadness, calm, confusion -- even vertigo! I like working on the subconscious mind through the use of color, texture, perspective and/or subject matter. Ideas using metaphors or relating to cause and effect, metaphysics and spiritual /Biblical themes are the basis for many of my works.
Art should be an adventure into the creative mind. It should also be an inspirational experience of exploration in the conscious and subconscious. However, it should also be FUN! When you stop having fun (even in serious works), you need to find a new focus, style, or vocation (or simply take a vacation 
from it).
I give thanks for the inspiration God has given me over the years, and the talent to express that inspiration. The roads I have travelled, the people I have met and the places I have visited have shaped my experiences and who I am in many ways. However, I had a foundation in my faith first and the rest were layers added on top and around that primary foundation. Without my faith, I wouldnot have led the life I have had or would I have created the works you see here.

It's In The Works Exhibit 2005
“It’s In The Works”, describes these selections in oil painting, intaglio, lithography, screenprinting and photography. This selection of works show how I like to use varied media to create an overall effect of diversity in unity; the same way different types of cogs are carefully manufactured to work together to create a beautiful working piece of machinery. I love working in each of these media. They allow me to explore differect aspects of the same subject matter, as well as giving me a fresh approach to each media as I leave and come back to them each time.
In this selection of of traditional media I have explored abstraction andcontemporay realism, each within their own capacity, as well as in conjunction to produce different effects. Whether through subject matter or medium, these works explore color, motion, rythym and texture.
