For the Second time in Seoul!

* learn about creating patterns and layers, * habotai silk (8 m/m), dyes & instructions provided

*Students can get the 5-6 m/m silk again, but the price is the same price as the heavier silk, because it is more expensive to buy in Korea.

• • • These "Veils" can be used for dancing or fashion. Great for adults and kids! No previous experience necessary.• • •

*You can also cut your yards down to 2-3 smaller scarves!

* Habotai silk (air or water weight), dyes, instructions and a place to make a mess provided

NOTE: Silk dyeing classes are one where you have a 98% chance of getting dye on your clothes, so please dress accordingly. Plan to get messy!

  • A minimum number of students required. Must have a minimum 8 registrants for the Workshop by December 4th or workshop will be postponed/cancelled
  
  
• Instruction is mainly in English (limited Korean and German translation available)
  
  
• Students will be provided with all basic materials and an instruction booklet (in English). All materials are provided for in the workshop fee.
  
  
• The workshops will be limited to 12 students, so RSVP as soon as possible.

• Minimum age is 10 years (12 in Korean age). All minors must be accompanied by their parent.
  
  
• All silk can be cut into smaller pieces to make multiple smaller works in the class (for example you can get two 22 x 53" scarves from a 1.5 yard silk)
  
  
• Students may want to bring a package of clothing clips, 1 pkg small clips and 1 pkg of larger ones, a needle with a large thread whole and a pack of dental floss to try certain designs.
  These items are usually available at DAISO for 1000 won a pkg
  
  **ZSJ will also accept registrations for making silks to order.
  The Same restrictions apply. Silks can be picked up at the workshop or delivered.

*This workshop uses professional Fiber Reactive Procion Dyes. Not the ones you can buy on the cheap at the supermarket. All colors are brilliant, mouth-watering, and permanent. They don't fade, even after repeated washings. They are safe and easy to use. Superior to supermarket dyes in every way!

USED FOR: Tie-Dye, Tub Dyeing, Low Immersion Dyeing, Batik, Dye Painting, Silk Painting, Screen & Block Printing or Stenciling, even Tie-dyeing Silk in a Microwave

USED ON: All natural Fibers (Cotton, Rayon, Hemp, Silk, etc.), Wood, Cane, and Rattan

You may have seen other silk dying workshops for less that took less time, but please remember, in most of these, participants dyed small scarf-sized pieces with an additional emphasis of using them in our homes as table cloths or wrapped around pillow forms. Not 3 meter lengths (or more) of silk that uses much more time, material, dye and fixative.
